The Science Comedy Program

Australia’s only public speaking & comedy program

In 2023-24, we have trained more than 100 scientists across Australia to give a presentation that is 20% humour and 80% science.

This 5-workshop program culminates in each scientist speaking for 10 minutes in a major festival across Australia.

Scientists are taught story-telling techniques, how to develop a strong opener, foolproof joke-writing, crowd work, and public speaking methodologies.

The program, developed by David Crisante, who was head of media and communications at organisations such as WWF-Australia, NSW Rural Doctors, icare and Neuroscience Research Australia, also helps the scientists to simplify complex topics and connect more effectively with public audiences.

The scientists, who featured in festivals including the Sydney Comedy Festival and Adelaide Fringe, have since gone on to be featured on TV and have had their projects funded by major donors.

If we can empower scientists with humour and effective communication techniques, imagine what we can do for your staff - and the impact this will have on achieving your team’s and organisation’s strategic goals.
